Steph's Balls Exploded!

Haha! Made you read!

So Steph decided to make some spaghetti tonight... I'm over at my desk, tooling away on the computer, when I smell something cooking. It smells kinda nice, so I don't think much of it, as I generally enjoy Steph's cooking. Suddenly, there's a loud BANG, and I realize that something just exploded in the microwave. I run over there, just as Steph opens the microwave door. Smoke comes pouring out of the door, and we see that the bowl she put in there with two frozen meatballs decided that variety is the spice of life, and being in one piece was too boring.

So there were two charred balls in the microwave along with several pieces of bowl. I set up a fan to pull all the smoke outside, but I don't think it worked too well. I went out to play poker tonight and when I got back I almost gagged on the smell.

Now, I know that the smell will go away. My last roommate decided to start a stir-fry and left the room. I guess he wasn't very hungry though, as the only thing he put in the pan was oil. And then when THAT caught fire, he dumped it in the sink and turned on the water. *sigh* Grease fire plus water does not equal common sense, but I always wondered about the guy. Anyway, our entire apartment filled with smoke, I started to get woozy from smoke inhalation, and the smell didn't go away for a long time. But it eventually DID go away.

Unfortunately, we are moving out next week. In fact, next Monday we have a maintenance walkthrough. I don't know if the "my balls were on fire" excuse will be quite kosher with them...

An Open Letter to the Gentleman Next to Me in the Gym

And because I'm so generous, here's another one:

O.

Now, do something about it.

(Not So (Not So)) Great Fortunes!

Follow up to follow up to yesterday's post:

Okay, okay, so Steph doesn't get arrested for domestic violence, she didn't actually hit me. But it sounds funnier to say that she did. Besides, I'm sure some of you want her to. Please comment here if you do, so that Guido and Nunzio can come visit you in the middle of the night and...um...re-educate you.

(Not So) Great Fortunes!

Follow up to yesterday's post:

Okay, she didn't kick me squaar in the neeuts. She gave me a nice, hard kidney shot. Now please excuse me while I go urinate blood.

Great Fortunes!

Fortune cookie at lunch today read:

"A man's best possession is a sympathetic wife."

I think I'm going to put this on my girlfriend's pillow tonight. Then, of course, I'll get plenty of sympathy, as she will probably swiftly kick me squaar in the neeuts.

Fatigue or illness?

I've been getting on the order of six hours of sleep a night lately, because frankly, I'm a moron. I can't force myself to get to sleep even though I know I should. I'd just rather be doing stuff...watching TV/movies, playing poker, messing around on the computer, etc. So I've become a little tired.

Yesterday I felt dizzy at work and it was hard to focus, so I went home. Not that I have that much to do, but I still always feel bad leaving work when I'm not feeling well. I felt better later in the afternoon, so I finished up my work from home.

Today I came to work but my stomach is on fire. It could be the "high quality" Domino's pizza I ate last night, but I don't know. Also, I usually have my resolution on 1600x1200 at work, but I had to lower it because it is kinda blurry this morning.

So the question is: am I sick or just sleep-deprived? I dunno. Either way I need to get more sleep. So the next time you see me online at 2 or 3 in the morning, make sure you tell me that you are going to throw poison darts at my big toe if I don't go to sleep. Just don't follow up. Or I'd have to hurt you.

Dancing in the Dark...

So last night I went out with Steph and a few friends to dinner across the street. About ten minutes after we sat down...*darkness* The power went out. Not terrible, there was emergency lighting. So I ate my salad in the dark (half of which ended up on the table), then right after I finish that, the lights come back on. Whee! But right before our food came out, the power went out again. We ate our food in the dark, and right as I was finishing, the manager came to all the tables and asked everyone to leave, but not to worry, we wouldn't have to pay, and any food we had would be boxed up for us. Not bad. Total meal cost: $2 for tip :)

So this morning I'm getting ready for work and *poof* darkness again. Showered in the dark, and though I need to shave BADLY, there are no windows in the bathroom so that proved impossible. Just call me Mr. Shaggy.

I'm trying to look at the positive side of things as a general rule now, so I was just amused by the whole thing. Sure, it's a minor inconvenience, but it breaks up the daily grind.

Boo-yeah! Take that, negativity! I'll bitch-slap you back to the recesses of my mind! Um, without bitch-slapping myself. Which does prove to be difficult. Damn. Well, the journey of a thousand miles begins with but a single step.

If you understood that last paragraph, please explain it to me some time. I think the extra hair on my face is confusing my brain wave patterns. They used to be like a zen garden, but now they're like a stormy sea.

On second thought, just disregard this entire post. It doesn't even make sense to me.
